I was born in Galveston, Texas in 1992. I spent my youth in the Carolinas and graduated from Clemson University's business school in 2014. I finished my first novel in 2015, a mystery about a college fraternity gone bad. Since then I've written eight more novels running the gamut from mystery to topical thriller. I'm the founder of Life9 Enterprises, a vertically integrated startup that seeks to influence the creative process from the initial manuscript through, ideally, film or television adaptation. Through Life9, I strive to champion writers and continue to amass a collection of highly marketable and adaptable commercial fiction.

The trilogy portrays a compelling and unsettling 30-year journey exploring the consequences of humanity's deepening reliance on artificial intelligence.

I write mainly dark, disturbing, sometimes racy thrillers. My other novels are murder tales. Someone told me that "I write with a scalpel rather than a pen The pacing. The perversion. The no-BS delivery. It’s rare to find an author willing to lean fully into the darkness of power, seduction, and consequence the way you do, without softening the edges."

T.R. Cotwell
An engineer by vocation, Cotwell began his dive training in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1996, getting his CMAS certification under the tutelage of old school wreck divers. On an early morning dive in the winter of 1997 in freezing waters, the first stage of his regulator froze and free flowed, which marked his transition to diving in tropical waters. Since then, he has dived in the waters off New Guinea, Borneo, Bali, Sulawesi, Hawaii, and the Red Sea.
