Gina Detwiler was planning to be a teacher but switched to writing so she wouldn't have to get up so early in the morning. She is the author of the YA Supernatural FORLORN series and the co-author with Priscilla Shirer of the bestselling middle-grade fantasy series The Prince Warriors. She also wrote the Ultimate Bible Character Guide for LifeWay.
Under the name Gina Miani she wrote the women's novels AVALON and ANTILLIA and the historical novel THE HAMMER OF GOD.
Michael was born in 1986 in Texas to middle-class parents who instilled the idea that formal education and financial and career success were positively correlated. He spent much of his High School years screwing around, like any other teenager in the early 2000s. Then, Michael went to Army Basic Training when he was 17, between his Jr. and Sr. years of High School. He returned focused and fully intent on completing as much school as possible. During Michael’s undergraduate and graduate careers, he studied Experimental Psychology as the first BA – Ph.D. track student at The University of Texas at Arlington. During this time, Michael studied psychology, psychometrics, statistics, philosophy, and religion. He wrote his first short book in 2010
