Sarah Fay is an author and activist. Her memoir Pathological: A True Story of Six Misdiagnoses (HarperCollins, March 15, 2022) is an investigation into the invalidity and unreliability of mental health diagnoses. Her writing appears in many publications, including The New York Times, The Atlantic, Time Magazine, The New Republic, Longreads, The Michigan Quarterly Review, The Rumpus, The Millions, McSweeney’s, The Believer, and The Paris Review, where she served as an advisory editor. Her essays have been chosen as a Notable Mention in Best American Essays and nominated for Pushcart Prizes.
