Sam Wedelich

Sam is a native Texan turned New Yorker. While she’s always been cartooning and writing and drawing, her main gig for many years was in the visual display world of retail.

She worked extensively for Anthropologie and Free People for just over 5 years, before taking the leap to both pursue illustration full-time and be a stay-at-home parent to her 2 children.

Sam lives in the Bronx with her husband, kids and too many houseplants (is there such a thing?!).

Gene Zion

Born on October 5, in 1913, Gene Zion attended the New School of Social Research and the Pratt Institute. In 1948, he married artist Margaret Bloy Graham, who then collaborated with him on all his picture books. When their marriage ended in 1968, Zion also ended his career as an author. Zion is best known for his creation of the rascally dog, Harry, who appears in such books as HARRY THE DIRTY DOG and HARRY BY THE SEA. He died in 1975.

Tedd Arnold

Tedd grew up with three brothers. His family lived on a farm in Pennsylvania for several years then returned to Elmira until Tedd was ten years old. His father's work then required that they move to Gainesville, Florida. There, Tedd's first art lessons in an abandoned dentist's office over the Happy Hour pool hall eventually led to a fine arts degree from the University of Florida.

Alyssa Satin Capucilli

Alyssa Satin Capucilli was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1957. She graduated from Sarah Lawrence College, and pursued her interest in dance, becoming a professional dancer and dance instructor. Leo Lionni
