Elizabeth Raum
As a child, I loved writing reports. For me, doing research has always been a kind of treasure hunt. My treasures are the facts that create pictures of past worlds and faraway places. I've put those facts into nearly 100 biographies, histories, and science books for young readers. I've also written two picture books and several interactive adventures that place you, the reader, inside the story. I hope that all my books lead you to imagine yourself in some intriguing place among fascinating people. Every book should take readers on new adventures in this big, beautiful world of ours.

Peter S. Alagona
I’M AN ENVIRONMENTAL HISTORIAN, historian of science, conservation scientist, and nature-culture geographer. My work explores what happens when humans share space and resources (their habitats) with other species: how we interact with non-human creatures, how we make sense of these interactions, why we fight so much about them, what we can learn from them, and how we might use these lessons to foster a more just, peaceful, humane, and sustainable society. Most of my research has focused on human interactions with wildlife in North America. A second area of interest involves developing creative interdisciplinary, collaborative, and mixed methods for studying ecological change over multiple time periods and scales.

Elliot Kreloff
I have been drawing and acting out stories as long as I can remember. My mom said that she wanted to buy stock in a paper company because I went through so many sketch pads. Starting when I was 7 years old, I went to art classes at the Brooklyn Museum every Saturday morning. All by myself, I took the long bus ride from the far end of Flatbush Avenue, got off at the majestic Brooklyn Public Library, walked through the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and arrived for my art class at 10 am. So yes, I am a Brooklyn boy. We were taken through the dark galleries, learning to draw the Egyptian mummies and the carved African masks. Later on, I was lucky enough to get into the High School of Music and Art. Which was much further than the museum. An hour a
