Bảo Ninh tên thật là Hoàng Ấu Phương, sinh tại huyện Diễn Châu, tỉnh Nghệ An, quê ở xã Bảo Ninh, huyện Quảng Ninh, tỉnh Quảng Bình, Việt Nam. Ông là con trai của Giáo sư Hoàng Tuệ (1922 - 1999), nguyên Viện trưởng Viện Ngôn ngữ học. Ông vào bộ đội năm 1969. Thời chiến tranh, ông chiến đấu ở mặt trận B-3 Tây Nguyên, tại tiểu đoàn 5, trung đoàn 24, sư đoàn 10. Năm 1975, ông giải ngũ. Otsuichi (乙一, Otsuichi?), also known as Eiichi Nakata and Asako Yamashiro, is the pen-name of Hirotaka Adachi (安達寛高), born 1978.

He is a Japanese writer, mostly of horror short stories. He made his debut with Summer, Fireworks, and My Corpse while still in high school.

Major works include the novel Goth, which was made into a manga, and the short story collection Zoo, which was made into a movie.

Jun'ichi Watanabe

Junichi Watanabe ( 渡辺淳一, Watanabe Jun'ichi, October 24, 1933 – April 30, 2014) was a Japanese writer, known for his portrayal of the extra-marital affairs of middle aged people.

His 1997 novel 'A Lost Paradise' became a bestseller in Japan and over Asia, and was made into a film and a TV miniseries. He has written more than 50 novels in total, and won awards including Naoki Prize in 1970 for 'Light and Shadow' (Hikari to kage), New Current Coterie magazine prize for Makeup, the Yoshikawa Eiji Prize in 1979 for 'The Setting Sun in the Distance' (Toki rakujitsu) and 'The Russian Brothel of Nagasaki' (Nagasaki roshia yujokan).

He was born in Sunagawamachi (present-day Kamisunagawa) and died on April 30, 2014 of prostate cancer in Tokyo.

Nguyễn Huy Thiệp

Nguyễn Huy Thiệp sinh năm 1950, quê huyện Thanh Trì, thành phố Hà Nội. Thuở nhỏ ông cùng gia đình lưu lạc khắp nông thôn đồng bằng Bắc Bộ, từ Thái Nguyên qua Phú Thọ, Vĩnh Phúc.

Năm 1960, gia đình chuyển về quê, định cư ở xóm Cò, làng Khương Hạ (nay là phường Khương Đình, quận Thanh Xuân), Hà Nội. Năm 1970, ông tốt nghiệp khoa sử Trường Đại học Sư phạm Hà Nội và theo ông bị đưa về làng dạy học tại Tây Bắc đến năm 1980, vì bố ông có làm việc với Pháp, cho nên lý lịch ông vì vậy bị xếp vào loại "không sạch”.[1] Năm 1980, ông chuyển về làm việc tại Bộ Giáo dục và Đào tạo, sau đó, làm việc tại Công ty Kỹ thuật trắc địa bản đồ, Cục Bản đồ cho đến khi về hưu.
