  Dominique Simonnet est un écrivain journaliste et éditeur français, auteur d'essais et de romans, ainsi que d'ouvrages de vulgarisation des arts, des sciences et des idées, et, par ailleurs, producteur d’émissions de radio et de télévision, et chroniqueur de danse. Ses derniers essais, Le Guide des élections américaines (2012) et 11 septembre, le jour du chaos (2011) sont parus aux éditions Perrin, et son dernier roman, Délivrez-nous du corps (septembre 2013) aux éditions Plon.
  
  Jusqu'en 2007, il est rédacteur en chef à l'hebdomadaire L'Express, dirigeant notamment la rubrique « Grands entretiens », dans laquelle il dialogue avec diverses personnalités dans le monde.
