Syd Gilmore grew up in northern New Jersey with an affinity for science fiction, monster movies, and music. He studied filmmaking briefly at The New School for Social Research in New York City until a chance gig on a low-budget movie compelled him to relocate to Hollywood. After persistently knocking on doors and generally making a pest of himself, he finally landed his first significant job in the movies, which eventually led to a successful career in the film industry.
Like everyone else living in Hollywood, he decided to try his hand at screenwriting. He learned the craft by reading every writing book he could get his hands on and attending classes offered by prominent screenwriters. He managed to option several screenplays before switchi
G.M. Savage is inspired by nature, and his writing is no different. He enjoyed classics like Where the Red Fern Grows and Hatchet growing up but didn't know he wanted to become a writer until reading A River Runs Through It in college. Mr. Savage aims to take readers to uncharted landscapes through his stories. He encourages young readers to go on an outdoor adventure, even if it's only to the backyard.
