Oscar van den Boogaard

Oscar van den Boogaard (1964) groeide op in Suriname en Nederland. Hij studeerde rechten en Franse taal- en letterkunde in Montpellier, Amsterdam en Brussel. Na korte tijd op een advocatenkantoor gewerkt te hebben koos hij voor het fulltime schrijverschap. Hij maakte zijn debuut met de roman Dentz die in 1990 verscheen bij Athenaeum - Polak & Van Gennep: op dat moment was hij de enige levende schrijver van die uitgeverij.

Banana Yoshimoto

Banana Yoshimoto (よしもとばなな or 吉本ばなな) is the pen name of Mahoko Yoshimoto (吉本真秀子), a Japanese contemporary writer. She writes her name in hiragana. (See also 吉本芭娜娜 (Chinese).)

Along with having a famous father, poet Takaaki Yoshimoto, Banana's sister, Haruno Yoiko, is a well-known cartoonist in Japan. Growing up in a liberal family, she learned the value of independence from a young age.

André Aciman was born in Alexandria, Egypt and is an American memoirist, essayist, novelist, and scholar of seventeenth-century literature. Nino Haratischwili

Nino Haratischwili (Georgian: ნინო ხარატიშვილი) is a Georgian-born German novelist, playwright, and theater director.

Haratischwili was born and raised in Tbilisi, Georgia, where she attended a German-language school. To escape the political and social chaos that followed the collapse of the Soviet Union, she moved to Germany for two years in the early 1990s with her mother, where she attended the seventh and the eighth grade of school. Her family returned to Georgia afterwards. Haratischwili later moved to Germany again in order to attend drama school in Hamburg. She became a German citizen in 2012.
