Mirkka Lappalainen
Filosofian tohtori Mirkka Lappalainen (s. 1975) on helsinkiläinen historiantutkija. Hänen 1500- ja 1600-lukujen historiaa käsittelevät teoksensa ovat saaneet useita tunnustuksia. Väitöskirja Suku, valta, suurvalta: Creutzit 1600-luvun Ruotsissa ja Suomessa (2005) sai Helsingin yliopistossa väitöskirjapalkinnon ja sen käännös Ruotsissa puolestaan Vasa-museon palkinnon 2008. Lappalaisen esseekokoelma Maailman painavin raha (2006) valittiin vuoden tiedekirjaksi ja 1590-luvun sisällissotaa käsitellyt Susimessu (2009) vuoden historiateokseksi. Susimessu sai myös Lauri Jäntin palkinnin ja Urho Kekkosen 70-vuotisjuhlasäätiön tunnustuspalkinnon.
Lappalainen toimii tällä hetkellä Suomen ja Pohjoismaiden historian tutkijatohtorina Helsingin yliopiston
