U prozi Mirjane Novaković prepliću se sadašnjost i prošlost, fantastika i realizam. Likovi su zanimljivi, zapleti neočekivani, prepliću se elementi krimića, horora, mitskog i naučne fantastike. Mirjana Novaković je debitovala 1996. godine zbirkom Dunavski apokrifi, u izdanju Narodne knjige.
