Miomir Petrović je rođen u Beogradu 1. marta 1972. godine. Diplomirao je na odseku za Dramaturgiju na Fakultetu dramskih umetnosti u Beogradu (1995), magistrirao je na odseku za Teatrologiju na FDU u Beogradu (1999) i doktorirao na odseku za Interdisciplinarne studije pri Rektoratu Univerziteta Umetnosti u Beogradu (2008).
Član je Udruženja književnika Srbije (od 1999), kao i član Udruženja dramskih umetnika Srbije.
Dobitnik je Oktobarske nagrade grada Beograda za knjigu drama Argivski incident (Skupština grada Beograda, 1996).

Rođen je u Somboru 1928. godine. Kao petnaestogodišnjak, zbog svog jevrejskog porekla, biva interniran u zloglasne nemačke koncentracione logore Aušvic, Mauthauzen i Saksenhauzen.
