Michelle Pannetier-Alabert is a retired magistrate, auditing public accounts. She was born in Morocco and now lives in Provence. She is interested in the history of North Africa which is reflected in her novels by retracing the life of Europeans who immigrated to Morocco during the XIX and XX century.

Gregory Maguire is an American author, whose novels are revisionist retellings of children's stories (such as L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz into Wicked). He received his Ph.D. in English and American Literature from Tufts University, and his B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany.
