Kasya Denisevich is a Russian-born author and illustrator now living in Barcelona. Her work has been featured in the 2017 Bologna Book Fair Illustrators Exhibition.
I have been drawing and acting out stories as long as I can remember. My mom said that she wanted to buy stock in a paper company because I went through so many sketch pads. Starting when I was 7 years old, I went to art classes at the Brooklyn Museum every Saturday morning. All by myself, I took the long bus ride from the far end of Flatbush Avenue, got off at the majestic Brooklyn Public Library, walked through the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and arrived for my art class at 10 am. So yes, I am a Brooklyn boy. We were taken through the dark galleries, learning to draw the Egyptian mummies and the carved African masks.
