Maryam Hassouni

Maryam Hassouni debuteerde op haar vijftiende als actrice. Na een schitterende carrière en een studie Engels besloot ze zich volledig te richten op het schrijverschap. Ze schreef eerder een kinderboek. In 2022 verscheen Wat de fak, een zoals de NRC schreef `vlammend j'accuse tegen de film- en televisie-industrie'. In 2025 verschijnt haar roman Wezens, een indringende psychologische roman over transgenerationeel trauma en de eenzame strijd van een vrouw om zich van die erfelijke last te bevrijden. Een verhaal over vervreemding, existentiële schaamte en de weg naar heling.
