Jan Wolkers

Jan Hendrik Wolkers was a Dutch author, sculptor and painter.

Wolkers is considered one of the "Great Four" writers of post-World War II Dutch literature, along with Willem Frederik Hermans, Harry Mulisch and Gerard Reve (the latter authors are also known as the "Great Three"). He became noted in the 1960s mainly for his strikingly direct descriptions of sex.

His 1969 novel Turks Fruit was translated into ten different languages and published in English as Turkish Delight. It was also made into a highly successful movie, the Paul Verhoeven-directed Turks Fruit (1972) which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and in 1999 won the award for Best Dutch Film of the Century.

Maartje Wortel

Maartje Wortel (1982) volgde de opleiding Beeld & Taal aan de Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. In 2007 won ze de Write Now!-wedstrijd voor literair talent. Ze publiceerde verhalen in Passionate, De Brakke Hond en De Gids en schreef columns voor NRC Handelsblad. De verhalenbundel Dit is jouw huis is haar debuut. Ze won er de Anton Wachterprijs 2010 mee, en kreeg de Nieuw Proza Prijs Venlo 2010 voor het verhaal 'Kranten', dat in de bundel is opgenomen. Bregje Hofstede

Bregje Hofstede (Ede, 1988) woont en werkt in Brussel, studeerde kunstgeschiedenis en Frans in Utrecht, Parijs en Berlijn, en sloot haar studie af met een onderzoeksmaster in 2012. De Hollands Maandblad aanmoedigingsbeurs werd haar in 2012/2013 toegekend voor haar korte verhalen en essays. Ze doceerde kunstgeschiedenis aan de Radboud Universiteit in Nijmegen en werkt als redactrice.
