Marcos Chicot nació en Madrid en 1971. Está casado y tiene dos hijos: Lucía (2009) y Daniel (2012).

Es licenciado en Psicología Clínica, en Psicología Laboral y en Económicas. Escribió su primera novela -Óscar- en 1997. En 1998 escribió Diario de Gordon, con la que ganaría el Premio de Novela Francisco Umbral. Dos años más tarde escribió una novela juvenil que fue reconocida con el Premio Internacional Literario Rotary Club. Ha quedado finalista en premios de relato y de novela como el Max Aub, el Ciudad de Badajoz, el Juan Pablo Forner y el Premio Planeta.
