जन्म : ७ मार्च १९११ को उत्तर प्रदेश के देवरिया जिले के कुशीनगर नामक ऐतिहासिक स्थान में।

शिक्षा : प्रारंभिक शिक्षा–दीक्षा पिता की देख–रेख में घर पर ही संस्कृत‚ फारसी‚ अंग्रेजी और बँगला भाषा व साहित्य के अध्ययन के साथ। १९२५ में पंजाब से एंट्रेंस की परीक्षा पास की और उसके बाद मद्रास क्रिश्चियन कॉलेज में दाखिल हुए।वहाँ से विज्ञान में इंटर की पढ़ाई पूरी कर १९२७ में वे बी .एस .सी .करने के लिए लाहौर के फॉरमन कॉलेज के छात्र बने।१९२९ में बी .एस .सी . करने के बाद एम .ए .में उन्होंने अंग्रेजी विषय रखा‚ पर क्रांतिकारी गतिविधियों में हिस्सा लेने के कारण पढ़ाई पूरी न हो सकी।

Rajendra Yadav

राजेन्द्र यादव हिन्दी के सुपरिचित लेखक, कहानीकार, उपन्यासकार व आलोचक होने के साथ-साथ हिन्दी के सर्वाधिक लोकप्रिय संपादक भी थे। नयी कहानी के नाम से हिन्दी साहित्य में उन्होंने एक नयी विधा का सूत्रपात किया। उपन्यासकार मुंशी प्रेमचन्द द्वारा सन् 1930 में स्थापित साहित्यिक पत्रिका हंस का पुनर्प्रकाशन उन्होंने प्रेमचन्द की जयन्ती के दिन 31 जुलाई 1986 को प्रारम्भ किया था। यह पत्रिका सन् 1953 में बन्द हो गयी थी। इसके प्रकाशन का दायित्व उन्होंने स्वयं लिया और अपने मरते दम तक पूरे 27 वर्ष निभाया।
