A former English teacher and current homemaker, Jo Hemmingwood lives in an enchanted wood in rural Alabama with her wife and son and a menagerie of animals. She was published twice in her college’s literary collection and enjoyed being an educator for six years, winning teacher of the year in 2020. Jo's writing is often humorous and personal, drawing from her varied life experiences. She pulls from her Southern rural upbringing to craft stories about community.
Virginia Hale lives in Sydney, Australia, and is currently working on her master’s degree in Children’s Literature. When she isn’t writing or studying, she is dreaming up trips to New York City and Boston. Her debut novel Echo Point—set in the heartland of the Blue Mountains, Australia—won a Golden Crown Literary Award in 2018.
