Karen Taylor
I started writing books around 18 years ago -- about two years before the birth of my son. It is no coincidence that for the past 16 years my work has tracked his progress -- from the fairytale world of The Toffee Makers, through to Sci-Fi and the Star Wars-inspired Turbulence, to the harsher realities of Off The Rails, my young adult book.
I'm a writer and journalist with over 25 years of editorial experience. I've contributed articles to newspapers, including The Financial Times, Evening Standard, and The Far Eastern Economic Review, as well as features for London Magazine and a variety of other publications. I am currently managing editor of Magazine World, the flagship title of FIPP -- The Worldwide Magazine Media Association.

Her books bring all the feels from sass, quirk and laughter to emotional grit and panty-melting heat.
She loves good books and great booze although she'll take mediocre booze if there's nothing else. For many, many years she was a registered nurse which means she knows things. Anatomical things. And she’s not afraid to use them!
She recently took a sea change and lives by the ocean with her husband of 33 years.

I've been a hippie-punk, a religious-squatter and a bureaucrat-anarchist; I thrive on contradictions and am a great believer in being slightly askew from the crowd. There's all sorts of ways of doing that - by being on the fringes of society, by travelling to other cultures or simply by being tipsy during the day.
I write contemporary dystopian fiction set in a recognisable near-future. I love taking reality, nudging it out of kilter and seeing what happens.

I moved to the south coast of England just before the Covid pandemic and after finishing my trilogy, The Green Family Saga, I planned the Seacastle Mysteries. Before I wrote novels, I spent 30 years working as an exploration geologist, managing remote sites and doing due diligence of projects in over thirty countries. During this time, I collec -
