Born on her father’s 30th birthday during the “Blizzard of ‘56”, the apple never fell far from the tree. Karen admired her father’s adventurous ways from an early age and followed him fearlessly on rivers, ski slopes, hiking trails, up trees and on motorcycles. He always told her she could do anything and she believed him. As the oldest of six children, that usually meant cleaning the house or taking care of the younger kids first, and then going on adventures!
