I am a black American woman who was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. My mother and her sister raised me. I endeavor for a multihyphenate career in the arts. I wrote The Canary Journal: a novel with the goal of empowering myself. A woman builds a nation. When other women see one woman living in strength, they absorb that empowerment. My heart is found in books, my treasure is stored there also. If life imitates art, my life has bonds of art and love.
