I am the author of THE WHISPERING TOWN, which has received the Prairie Pasque Book Award and the Andersen Prize (Italy). It has been named a Jane Addams Honor book, an ALA Children's Notable book, a Sydney Taylor Honor book and a National Jewish Book Award finalist. THE WHISPERING TOWN was also named to Booklist's Top 10 Spirituality and Religion Books for Youth list.
I am also the author of JOSIAS, HOLD THE BOOK, which is a Bank Street College Best Books selection and a recipient of the Américas Award for Children’s and Young Adult Literature.
