I am a full-time pharmacist who has a heart for helping people heal, whether through medicine or through stories. I write my books hoping that they will make others feel seen, and that they will inspire others to discover the unique joy their life can bring, even in difficult circumstances. When I’m not helping patients or working on my next book, you can find me hoarding new books like a dragon, yelling at my Nintendo Switch, or picking flowers.

Naomi Alderman

Naomi Alderman (born 1974 in London) is a British author and novelist.

Alderman was educated at South Hampstead High School and Lincoln College, Oxford where she read Philosophy, Politics and Economics. She then went on to study creative writing at the University of East Anglia before becoming a novelist.

Where do you get your ideas for your books?

The idea for Stray Spirit came from an active brainstorming session- I knew I wanted to write something for Nanowrimo, but I didn't know what. So I threw together three things I was interested in- bards, caves, and spirit possession- and went from there.

A Rival Most Vial came to me when the phrase "rival potion shops" fell into my head. (And subsequently never left.)
