B.R. Kingsolver
I made silver and turquoise jewelry for almost a decade, ended up in nursing school, then took a master’s in business. Along the way I worked in construction, as a newspaper editor, a teacher, and somehow found a career working with computers.

As to my other interests, I love the outdoors, especially the Rocky Mountains. I’ve skied since high school, with one broken leg and one torn ACL to show for it. I’ve hiked and camped all my life. I love to travel, though I haven’t done enough of it. I’ve seen a lot of Russia and Mexico, not enough of England. Amsterdam is amazing, and the Romanian Alps are breathtaking. Lake Tahoe is a favorite, and someday I’d like to see Banff.

Vanessa Nelson
I am a fantasy author living in Scotland, United Kingdom and spending my days juggling the demands of an elderly, spoiled cat, three giant dogs and fictional characters.

As far as the cat is concerned, she’s in charge and should always come first. The older dog lets me know when he isn’t getting enough attention by chewing up the house. The middle dog’s favourite method of getting my attention is a gentle nudge with his head. At least, he would say it’s gentle. And the younger dog's attention-getting method generally involves playing with the loudest squeaky toy he can find.

She loves riding horses, warm ocean beaches, and long walks in the mountains, none of which she can do in the Arctic, so she writes.
Her activities are riding her four-wheeler on cold ocean beaches (often frozen or covered with ice), and long walks to and from work when it’s 40 below—in the dark. She does keep her stakes sharp for those vamps that show up during the 67 days of night.

It begins with two best friends who grew up together, breaking rules and raising hell as they shaped each other’s personalities into the shameless assholes they are today. Well, at least for one of them, but I’ll get to that in a moment. These two boys—let’s call them Hunter and John—were all but inseparable. John excelled at creating music powerful enough to make angels weep and being the funniest asshole in Texas while Hunter dabbled—poorly, I might add—in his humble writings. Because they were self-declared brothers from other mothers, John respected Hunter’s humble writings as much as I— -

Henry Guard
Henry Guard is an entrepreneur and devoted father of two, who found joy in weaving bedtime tales for his children. As an imaginative storyteller, he often crafted stories on the spot, but to maintain consistency even when sleep loomed, he developed a habit of narrating his stories in episodes. One of these tales grew into the enchanting saga known as "The Borealis Queen", a journey that began as a bedtime story and evolved into a rich, episodic adventure. Now, he shares his stories with the world and looks forward to bringing more of them to life in future books.

Suzanne Snowden
Suzanne Snowden wanted to be a writer when she was in elementary school, but she forgot about it for fifty years. One day, while visiting the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. she wandered off by herself and found a metal staircase leading down to the basement where they stored the old card catalogues. (In retrospect, she thinks she probably should not have done that. But in her defense, the stairs were not blocked off and there were no signs!)

As she surveyed the rows and rows of card catalogue cabinets, a story came to her. She began to imagine a doctor who came to the library to relax and a witch who ended up there from the Middle Ages. Then she wrote a book about it. One book turned into three and now she's writing a paranormal ro -

Leslie R. Waggoner III
My journey as an author began unexpectedly, despite a lifetime of being an avid reader. In my younger days, I devoured works by Roger Zelazny, Anne McCaffrey, Stephen R. Donaldson, and J.R.R. Tolkien, among many others, though I never imagined I'd create worlds of my own.

My life experiences have profoundly shaped my writing. Serving in the U.S. Armed Forces in the 1980s, including a formative tour in Korea, exposed me to different cultures and philosophies that would later influence my storytelling. The concept of duality—represented in the yin-yang symbol—became a central theme in my life and my ideology, as well as a fascination with heraldry and family heritage.
At age 58, I created and registered my own personal coat of arms with the New -
