Ján Johanides

Slovenský prozaik a esejista.

Narodil sa v rodine predavača a vzdelanie získaval v Dolnom Kubíne a v Bratislave, kde začal v roku 1954 študovať na filozofickej fakulte Univerzity Komenského estetiku a dejiny umenia, no štúdium po troch rokoch nedokončil. Pracoval ako psychológ, referent vo Zväze slovenských spisovateľov, dramaturg a redaktor programového magazínu v dome kultúry a osvety v Bratislave a na mnohých ďalších miestach. Od roku 1972 sa venoval prevažne slobodnému povolaniu. Žil na viacerých miestach Slovenska – v Martine, v Trnovci nad Váhom, od roku 1972 žil v Šali, kde aj zomrel.

Svoje prvé literárne diela začal uverejňovať v časopise Mladá tvorba a Slovenské pohľady, neskôr prispieval do všetkých literárnych časopisov. Prvé knižn

Milan Kundera (1 April 1929 – 11 July 2023) was a Czech and French novelist. He went into exile in France in 1975, acquiring citizenship in 1981. His Czechoslovak citizenship was revoked in 1979, but he was granted Czech citizenship in 2019.

George Saunders was born December 2, 1958 and raised on the south side of Chicago. In 1981 he received a B.S. in Geophysical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. He worked at Radian International, an environmental engineering firm in Rochester, NY as a technical writer and geophysical engineer from 1989 to 1996.
