Ladelle McWhorter is the James Thomas Professor of Philosophy and Professor of the Women's, Gender, and Sexualities Studies Program at the University of Richmond. She is author of Bodies and Pleasures: Foucault and the Politics of Sexual Normalization (IUP, 1999).
Kelly Ruby Hanson is a Mental Health Coach, Sacred Passage Death Doula, and Human Design Practitioner who helps people manage the complex emotions that arise during difficult experiences. After facing many deaths in her work as a surgical technologist at the hospital and then losing her mom, Kelly realized that she needed a different set of skills and tools to better support the losses she experienced. Kelly learned that to have a better dying experience, people needed more than the traditional medicine could offer. Kelly became a Death Doula through The Conscious Dying Institute to deepen her work with clients. K. Scott Culpepper is an author, historian, and speaker creatively exploring the history and mystery of human experiences. He holds a Ph.D. from Baylor University and specializes in the history of the Atlantic World. His nonfiction book Francis Johnson and the English Separatist Influence was published by Mercer University Press in 2011. The Demonologists’ Daughters is his first novel. He teaches courses in history and religious studies at a private university in Iowa where he lives with his wife, Ginger.
