Guntis Berelis
Berelis ir studējis Latvijas Universitātes Fizikas un matemātikas fakultātē (1979—1981) un Latvijas Universitātes Filoloģijas fakultātes Bibliotēku zinātnes un bibliogrāfijas nodaļā.Strādājis par bibliotekāru Skujenē, kā arī žurnālā "Karogs" (1989—1992 un 2003—2010). 1986. gadā sācis publicēt literāros darbus. Izdevis vairākus stāstu krājumus, grāmatas bērniem. Tāpat rakstījis par postmodernisma iezīmēm latviešu prozā un citām tēmām. Par grāmatu "Neēd šo ābolu, tas ir mākslas darbs", kurā ir apskatīta 1990. gadu latviešu proza, saņēmis literatūras gada balvu literatūrzinātnē. 1994. gadā kļuvis par Latvijas Rakstnieku savienības biedru.

Õnnepalu was born in Tallinn and studied biology at the University of Tartu from 1980 to 1985. He began his writing career as a poet in 1985 and has published three collections of his works. In 1993 he garnered international attention when his novel Piiririik (English translation: "Border State") was published under his pen name 'Emil Tode'. The book was translated into 14 languages and became the most translated Estonian book of the 1990s. That year, he received the annual literary award given by the Baltic Assembly.
