Chuck Palahniuk
Written in stolen moments under truck chassis and on park benches to a soundtrack of The Downward Spiral and Pablo Honey, Fight Club came into existence. The adaptation of Fight Club was a flop at the box office, but achieved cult status on DVD. The film’s popularity drove sales of the novel. Chuck put out two novels in 1999, Survivor and Invisible Monsters. Choke, published in 2001, became Chuck’s first New York Times bestseller. Chuck’s work has always been infused with personal experience, and his next novel, Lullaby, was no exception. Chuck credits writing Lullaby with helping him cope with the tragic death of his father. Diary and the non-fiction guide to Portland, Fugitives and Refugees, were released in 2003. While on the road in sup

** I am shocked to find that some people think a 2 star 'I liked it' rating is a bad rating. What? I liked it. I LIKED it! That means I read the whole thing, to the last page, in spite of my life raining comets on me. It's a good book that survives the reading process with me. If a book is so-so, it ends up under the bed somewhere, or maybe under a stinky judo bag in the back of the van. So a 2 star from me means, yes, I liked the book, and I'd loan it to a friend and it went everywhere in my jacket pocket or purse until I finished it. A 3 star means that I've ignored friends to finish it and my sink is full of dirty dishes. A 4 star means I'm probably in trouble with my editor for missing a deadline because I was reading this book. But I wa

Thea Harrison
I write paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and other stuff. I taught myself to read when I was four. That was around the time I tried to ride my tricycle to work. I wasn't sure where work was, but I knew it had to be interesting if people went there every day. Now I combine my love of books with work, and I don't have to ride my tricycle to get there. My Elder Races series began May, 2011. You can also find me on Twitter and Facebook!

From the time I was young, I loved books and words.
I was born in Maryland, and lived there until I was 9. Early on in my educational experience I found a love of books and poems, and the librarians of Laurel, Maryland knew me by name.
Later, I moved to Florida with my family. I continued my love of books and have fond memories of ignoring teachers’ lessons, so I could pillage their classroom libraries.
Eventually, I started a punk band with my best friend and we put out a few EPs and even did a full Florida tour. I started as a lyrics writing bass player, and eventually got the confidence to become the vocalist.
My band eventually broke up, and I did the only two things I could think to do: learn how to play Dungeons and D -

He grew up in Grand Rapids, MI, spending an excessive amount of time at a local community theater where he developed his affinity for storytelling. This affinity grew into a deep admiration for language and spoken word poetry while studying mathematics and education at the University of Michigan. A few hundred mediocre poems and lackluster performances later, he decided his dream of writing a novel might not be as ridiculous as he once thought. He firmly believes that art—even silly books about magic, or maybe especially silly books about magic—has the ability to tell stories that sink beneath the surface. -

B.S.H. Garcia
B. S. H. Garcia writes speculative fiction with teeth: epic stakes, unhinged characters, and just enough grief to leave a hangover. After all, is a story any good if you aren't questioning your own morality and whether you'd actually have the guts to unravel whatever power structure someone thought was a good idea?

As a child, she began dissecting such questions in her backyard with stick swords and library books, eventually earning an English Writing degree from the University of Colorado (which no one asked for, but she’s still proud of). She’s wandered from Oregon to New Zealand chasing stories, whispering plot twists to trees, drinking horn in hand, and pretending she’s not eavesdropping on the universe.

He was born in London, Ontario, Canada, where he lives with his wife, daughter, and two cats, and they conjure up magic (love and happiness) daily. His whole life has been a journey of collecting stories and stowing them like a library of experiences.
Growing up in Middle Earth, Kanto, and Hyrule, before moving to darker worlds like Westeros, The Circle of The World, and The Randlands provided a sturdy foundation for Scott’s imagination to grow upon. He traveled to those other worlds a -
