Grace D. Chong

Grace Dacanay-Chong as a little girl loved listening to stories told by her grandmother. At age five, she began writing short stories. After 20 years of doing TV/radio commercials and print ads as Creative Director/Executive Vice-President in a multinational advertising agency, she decided to write full time. Today, she has written over 20 books. Three of her children's books have won first prize in the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature, and one was nominated in the National Book Awards.

May Tobias-Papa

May Tobias-Papa is an award-winning Filipino writer and illustrator, known for her children's books and a background in fine arts and advertising.

Tobias-Papa holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, cum laude, from the University of the Philippines. She later taught illustration and typography at the university. Before focusing on children's literature, she had a long career in advertising as both an art director and copywriter.

In a 2010 interview, she revealed that she decided to pivot to children's books after a period of soul-searching. She recalled being happiest as a child while writing and drawing her own picture books. This prompted her to enroll in writing workshops. Rhandee Garlitos

Raymund “Rhandee” Magno Garlitos's first children’s book was called Ang Paglalakbay ni Pepito Piso, which was illustrated by an art staffer colleague in Malate Literary Folio. He wrote this to join a children’s book making contest by a publishing company. He won the contest and they published his book.

He received numerous awards including four Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature.

Annie Pacaña-Lumbao

Annie is an illustrator, an author of children’s stories and a graphic designer. Her first storybook But That Won’t Wake Me Up!, which she co-authored with her daughter, received the Filipino Readers’ Choice Awards 2012 for children’s book category.
