The direct descendent of one of America's first sheriffs in the 1600's, related to legendary lawman Bill Tilghman, a career as a security contractor, and in local and federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies was a natural progression, with detours in the USMC, a couple of degrees, as a bank security director, and senior vice president of several household name mutual fund companies. Tilman is a subject matter expert in small arms, maritime issues (a US Coast Guard Master Captain), risk assessment, and protective intelligence.
