František Niedl se narodil 7.4.1949 v Českých Budějovicích a vystudoval SPŠ elektrotechnickou. Prošel profesemi elektromontér, obsluha vodní elektrárny, obsluha rozvodny, byl učitelem v autoškole a byl majitelem cestovní kanceláře. V současné době se věnuje budování jachetního klubu na Lipně a literární činnosti. Je ženatý a má 2 syny.
Má rád přírodu, motorky, koně, jachtink, literaturu a historii. Po vydání prvního autorova románu došlo k třináctileté pauze. Autor dal po převratu přednost prožívání dobrodružných událostí v reálném životě, před vymýšlením si jich v literatuře, a dal se na podnikání.
