I'm the author of several books published by McGraw-Hill Education including: Business Improv, The Winner’s Attitude and Super Service, but SHALLOW DEATH is my first murder, mystery, romance; and I LOVED writing it.

Well I've been married since the spring solstice, March 21st, 1970. I have two grown daughters and three grandchildren. My husband's job brought us to America in 1983, and after two years we started our own training company. Since then, I have designed, developed and delivered training solutions for business professionals worldwide including: Motorola, Hyatt Hotels, Siemens, DeVry University, GE Healthcare and HSBC. Kris grew up reading classic novels to her mother. From these moments, she became fascinated with books and words. It was always the gritty worlds and the characters’ growth that drew her in, and she often found herself engrossed in young adult science fiction, dystopian, and fantasy.
A lifelong daydreamer, she finally decided to put down her dreams onto paper. She tried to write straight science fiction and then straight fantasy, but both never clicked. So now she creates worlds just a tad bit different from ours - a blend of the futuristic with a touch of the fantastic.
Strands of Time, her debut novel and the first book in the Aeterna Chronicles, was born.

My mother's family, the Karems, immigrated to the United States from Becharre, Lebanon in the early 1900s. In Becharre, theMyy, and the town's other inhabitants served as "Keepers of the Cedars of God" for generations. This famous grove was part of the tremendous forests that used to cover most of Lebanon. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh seeks fame and glory by cutting down the cedar forest. I thought this ancient tension between protectors of the environment and developers made the perfect foil for Ranger Nader & The Sunstruck Phantom, and I hope you will too.
