Fatma Aliye Hanım

Fatma Aliye Topuz (Fatma Aliye Hanım) Türk edebiyatının ilk kadın romancısı olarak tanınır.

Zafer Hanım'ın 1877 yılında yayımladığı Aşk-ı Vatan adlı bir roman mevcutsa da yazarın tek romanı olduğu için Zafer Hanım değil, beş roman yayımlayan Fatma Aliye Hanım ilk romancı ünvanını almıştı.

9 Ekim 1862'de İstanbul'da doğdu. Tarihçi Ahmed Cevdet Paşa ile Adviye Hanım'ın kızıdır. Kendisine özel bir eğitim verilmese de ağabeyi Ali Sedat Bey'in evde özel hocalardan aldığı dersleri dinlemesi sayesinde kendini geliştirdi. Fransızca merakının ortaya çıkması üzerine ders alarak bu dili çok iyi düzeyde öğrendi.

Ahmed Midhat Efendi

Ahmet Mithat was an Ottoman journalist, author, translator, and publisher during the Tanzimat period. In his works, he was known as Ahmet Mithat Efendi, in order to distinguish him from the contemporary politician Midhat Pasha. Ahmet Mithat Efendi adopted his name in homage to Ahmed Şefik Midhat Pasha, with whom he had been associated professionally, serving as an official and newspaper editor in Midhat Pasha's Vilayet of the Danube.

Muallim Naci

Muallim Naci (Ottoman Turkish: معلّم ناجى), literally "Naci The Teacher" (b. 1850 – d. 12 April 1893), was an Ottoman writer, poet, educator and literary critic.

He lived during the reform-oriented Tanzimat period of the Ottoman Empire and advocated modernization without breaking ties with the old. He contributed in criticisms about both the prose and the poetry, and acquired a special place in Turkish literature and society by studying problems and providing ideas that would affect the Turkish people. His work Lugat-i Nâcî, an Ottoman Turkish dictionary, is of major importance.

Hüseyin Rahmi Gürpınar was a Turkish writer and politician.

Gürpınar was the son of a family close to the Ottoman court, born in Istanbul. Having lost his mother at an early age, he was sent to Crete where his father was an Ottoman civil servant, however he was soon sent back to Istanbul, where he was brought up by his aunts and grandmothers in Istanbul.

Gürpınar started writing fiction at an early age. He became a civil servant, then a writer and journalist. He later served as a member of parliament in the early years of the Turkish Republic between 1935 and 1943.

Euripides (Greek: Ευριπίδης) (ca. 480 BC–406 BC) was a tragedian of classical Athens. Along with Aeschylus and Sophocles, he is one of the three ancient Greek tragedians for whom any plays have survived in full. Some ancient scholars attributed ninety-five plays to him, but the Suda says it was ninety-two at most. Of these, eighteen or nineteen have survived more or less complete (Rhesus is suspect). There are many fragments (some substantial) of most of his other plays. Ahmet Hâşim

Ahmet Haşim was an influential Turkish poet of the early 20th century. He was born in Baghdad, probably in the year 1887. In 1906, having graduated from the Mekteb-i Sultanî (now Galatasaray High School), he began to work as a public servant in different state offices. After the foundation of the Republic of Turkey, Hâşim worked as a teacher of aesthetics in the Academy of Fine Arts and as a French language teacher at Istanbul University. For many years, he also wrote essays for the newspapers.
