Elbert B. Smith
A graduate of Maryville College in Tennessee Elbert B. Smith earned his master’s (1947) and Ph.D, (1949) in history from the University of Chicago. Smith taught at Youngstown University, Iowa State University, and the University of Wisconsin before moving to the University of Maryland, where he retired as professor emeritus as American history.

Doris Kearns Goodwin
Doris Helen Kearns Goodwin is an American biographer, historian, former sports journalist, and political commentator. She has written biographies of numerous U.S. presidents. Goodwin's book No Ordinary Time: Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt: The Home Front in World War II won the Pulitzer Prize for History in 1995. Goodwin produced the American television miniseries Washington. She was also executive producer of "Abraham Lincoln", a 2022 docudrama on the History Channel. John S.D. Eisenhower
John Sheldon Doud Eisenhower was a United States Army officer, diplomat, and military historian. He was the son of President Dwight D. Eisenhower and First Lady Mamie Eisenhower. His military career spanned from before, during, and after his father's presidency, and he left active duty in 1963 and then retired in 1974. From 1969 to 1971, Eisenhower served as United States Ambassador to Belgium during the administration of President Richard Nixon, who was previously his father's vice president and also his daughter-in-law's father.
