I've been writing stories since I was twelve years old, but it was studying archaeology, especially prehistory, that really sparked my creativity. Working on excavations allows me to touch (pre)history in a very direct way, but to fit the pieces of the puzzle together, to reconstruct the missing parts of people's long-forgotten lives is something I love just as much. This inspired me to write my prehistoric children's novels, and I'm not done writing yet. The past is a far too mysterious and magical place to ever stop exploring!

Eric Veillé est né en 1976 à Laval. Après des études d’arts appliqués à l’école Duperré à Paris et un exil de deux ans au Cambodge, sa bande dessinée absurde Le Sens de la vie et ses frères, paraît chez Cornélius en 2008. Directeur artistique dans l’édition, il décide un jour de printemps de se consacrer à l’écriture et l’illustration de livres jeunesse.
