Edmundas Malūkas gimė 1945 m. balandžio mėn. 15 d. Skuodo rajono Ylakių kaime. Mokėsi Rietavo vidurinėje mokykloje. Baigė Veterinarijos akademiją. Dirbo Neringos veterinarijos stoties viršininku. Vėliau persikėlė gyventi į Vilnių, dirbo Zoologijos ir parazitologijos institute. Baigė Maskvos patentologijos institutą.

Edmundas Malūkas rašytojas, kuris nuo 1992 metų beveik kasmet išleidžia po romaną, tampantį bestseleriu. E. Malūko išleisti romanai: Kraujo skonis (1992 m.), Juodieji želmenys (1996 m.), Moters kerštas (1994 m.), Šiukšlyno žmonės (1995 m.), Migla I- II dalys (2001m.), Duženos (2002 m.), apsakymų rinkinys Vilko duona (1998 m.).
