Ross Leondiou
Hi, I'm [Ross Leondiou] — a storyteller with one foot in the past and the other firmly planted in a fish shop. I write about the grit, humour, and heart of growing up in Australia, where steel factories and deep fryers were as much a part of life as family and friendship.
My books:
Wog in a Fish Shop – a true-to-life, nostalgic, and often funny look at my childhood in a family-run fish and chip shop during the 1960s. Framed around some of the era’s biggest world events — from the Cuban Missile Crisis and the moon landing to the demise of the Ford motor car and the wild chaos of cracker night — it's a story for anyone who's balanced two cultures while history unfolded around them. Armed with her wit, far too many cats, and a curious faced dog, she battles the wonders of family life. She takes all of her flaws, insecurities, and failings, wraps them in little bits of paper, gives them personality and names, and shoves them into her books. She may be graphic, vulgar and a wee bit asinine on paper, but all of her friends and family know her to be sweet, kind and loyal.
