Christine S. Bellen-Ang

Christine S. Bellen graduated from UP Diliman in 1995 with a BA in Philippine Studies, majors in Creative Writing and Art Studies. In 2003, she received an MA in Philippine Studies with majors in Philippine Literature and Art Studies.

She is a Writing Fellow of Pambansang Unyon ng mga Manunulat sa Pilipinas (PANULAT) and the Barlaya Writers for Children of the UP Institute of Creative Writing and Adarna House. She is also a Literary Criticism Fellow of the Bienvenido N. Santos Creative Writing and Research Center at the De La Salle University. A former vice president of Kuwentista ng mga Tsikiting (KUTING) and a current member of Congress of Teachers/Educators for Nationalism and Democracy (CONTEND), she has held several lectures regarding

Eoin Colfer

Eoin Colfer (pronounced Owen) was born in Wexford on the South-East coast of Ireland in 1965, where he and his four brothers were brought up by his father and mother, who were both educators.

He received his degree from Dublin University and began teaching primary school in Wexford. He has lived and worked all over the world, including Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Italy. I had a variety of jobs, including secretary, trainee buyer at Harrods, dental nurse, production assistant in a reprographic and printing company and various others.

I began to write after joining a creative writing class. I had no success with article writing, or short stories, or fiction, but the first children’s story I wrote, for a magazine called Twinkle, was accepted for publication. Hooray!!!

Things snowballed and a lot (yes lots and lots) of hard work later I now write full time and have over 50 books published. I still go to the same writing class and we have become a big happy family of writers!

Oliver Jeffers

Oliver Jeffers' work takes many forms. His distinctive paintings have been exhibited in galleries worldwide, and HarperCollins UK and Penguin USA publish his award-winning picture books, now translated into over 30 languages.
