Carlos Reis

CARLOS REIS nasceu em 28 de setembro de 1950, em Angra do Heroísmo. É Licenciado em Filologia Românica (1974) e doutorado em Literatura Portuguesa (1983) pela Faculdade de Letras Universidade de Coimbra, onde é professor catedrático, desde 1990. Foi professor convidado das Universidades de Salamanca, Santiago de Compostela, Wisconsin-Madison, Massachusetts-Dartmouth e da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul.
Foi ainda Diretor do Centro de Estudos de Língua e Cultura Portuguesa da Universidade Aberta (1988-1998), Diretor da Biblioteca Nacional de Lisboa, entre Maio de 1998 e Outubro de 2002 e reitor da Universidade Aberta (2002-06). Coordenador de várias coleções, de onde se destacam a História Crítica da Literatura Portugues

Socorro Acioli

José Saramago

José de Sousa Saramago (16 November 1922 – 18 June 2010) was a Portuguese novelist and recipient of the 1998 Nobel Prize in Literature, for his "parables sustained by imagination, compassion and irony [with which he] continually enables us once again to apprehend an elusory reality."
