Carlos Calderón Fajardo

Carlos Calderón Fajardo fue sociólogo de profesión (PUCP). Publicó trabajos de su especialidad en varias revistas académicas y en diarios de circulación nacional.

En 1974 obtuvo el primer lugar en el concurso de cuento José María Arguedas. En 1981 ganó el concurso Unanue de novela con La colina de los árboles. En 1984 obtuvo el premio Gaviota Roja de novela con Así es la pena en el paraíso. En 1985, ganó el premio Hispamérica de cuento, organizado por la Universidad de Maryland, teniendo como jurado a Roa Bastos, Mario Vargas Llosa y Julio Cortazar. En el año 2006 fue considerado finalista del Premio Tusquets de novela en España con su novela El fantasma nostálgico.
