Cătălin Pavel (n. 1976) este scriitor și arheolog. A urmat studii doctorale și postdoctorale la Univ. of Oxford, Univ. Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Institutul Arheologic Albright din Ierusalim, Univ. Hamburg și Colegiul Noua Europă din București. A participat la săpături arheologice în țară, în Germania, Franța, Anglia, Maroc, Israel și în special în Turcia (la Milet, Gordion și, în 2005–2010, la Troia). A predat arheologie, artă clasică și teme arheologice în literatură în București, Cluj și Atlanta, iar în prezent este conferențiar universitar la Univ. „Ovidius” din Constanța, unde coordonează doctorate și conduce săpăturile arheologice ale universității la Histria.
