Baek Heena

Baek Heena is one of Korea’s most recognized picture book artists. With a background in film animation, her unique visual style features handmade miniature figurines and environments painstakingly lighted and photographed. Shaun Tan (born 1974) is the illustrator and author of award-winning children's books. After freelancing for some years from a studio at Mt. Lawley, Tan relocated to Melbourne, Victoria, in 2007. Tan was the Illustrator in Residence at the University of Melbourne's Department of Language Literacy and Arts Education for two weeks through an annual Fellowship offered by the May Gibbs Children’s Literature Trust. 2009 World Fantasy Award for Best Artist. Sara Stridsberg is a Swedish author and translator. Her first fiction novel, Happy Sally, was about Sally Bauer, the first Scandinavian to swim the English Channel.

In 2007, she was awarded the Nordic Council's Literature Prize for her novel Drömfakulteten (The Dream Faculty), which is her second novel and a fictitious story about Valerie Solanas, who wrote the SCUM manifesto, which Stridsberg has translated into Swedish.

Jon Klassen

Jon Klassen received the 2010 Canadian Governor General’s Award for his illustrations in Caroline Stutson’s Cat's Night Out. Michael Ian Black

Michael Ian Black is a popular comedian who began his career with "The State," a sketch comedy troupe he co-founded at New York University in 1988, which went on to have a successful run on MTV. He then co-created the Comedy Central television series "Viva Variety," a fake European variety show.

From there, he appeared on several television shows before landing the role of Phil Stubbs, the quirky bowling alley manager on NBC's "Ed," which ran for almost four seasons. Ryōji Arai

Ryōji Arai was born in Yamagata Prefecture in 1956. He studied art at Nihon University. In 1990, he published in first picture book, Melody. In 1997, he won the Shōgakukan Children's Publishing Culture Prize for The Lying Moon. In 1999, Asai's Journey of Riddles received the Special Award at the Bologna Book Fair. He won the Astrid Lindgren memorial Award, the highest international award in children's literature, in 2005. In 2009, he won the JBBY Prize for The Sun Organ.
