Anya Damirón

Anya was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on October 15, 1982. She worked in advertising as a creative copywriter for eight years, and that’s how she discovered her love for creating ideas and working with images and writing.

Since 2008, she has self-published 15 picture books in collaboration with Argentine illustrator Pablo Pino. She started with Lucia’Stories, a collection of books that encourage kids to be curious, to dream, to invent, and to use their imagination but after making a book on behalf of a cancer foundation to collect donations, everything changed. Marta Altés is an award-winning author and illustrator. She studied graphic design in Barcelona and after working there as a graphic designer for almost five years, decided to pursue her interest for illustration that she had since she was a child.
