Anna Bhau Sathe

Tukaram Bhaurao Sathe, popularly known as Anna Bhau Sathe, was a social reformer, folk poet, and writer from Maharashtra, India. Sathe was a Dalit born into the Matang community, and his upbringing and identity were central to his writing and political activism. Sathe was a Marxist-Ambedkarite mosaic, initially influenced by the communists but he later became an Ambedkarite. He is credited as a founding father of 'Dalit Literature' and played a vital role in the Samyukta Maharashtra Movement.

B.D. Kher

B.D.Kher, who authored about 117 books during his life time, wrote his first book in 1939. His recently published books, 'Sanjeevan' (based on the life of Sant Dnyaneshwar) and 'Gandharvagatha' (based on the life of Balgandharv), were well received by readers. Vyankatesh Digambar Madgulkar (Marathi: व्यंकटेश दिगंबर माडगूळकर) (1927–2001) was one of the most popular Marathi writers of his time. He became well-known mainly for his realistic writings about village life in a part of southern Maharashtra called Maandesh, set in a period of 15 to 20 years before and after India's Independence.
