Andrew Thorp King
I am an executive fintech banker, spy novelist, speaker, punk rocker, podcaster, ex-bodybuilder, cigar lover, and serial entrepreneur. I founded two independent record labels—Thorp Records and Sailor’s Grave Records—and have invested in many spaces, including online lending, fitness, lead generation, and independent music.
I am also a serial failure. I have crashed and burned through bankruptcy, divorce, mortgage default, public assistance, and multiple business failures. But, like a jack-in-the-box after a punch, I pop back up every time, rebuilding my life—informed by failure—with a big smile on my face.

David Gittlin
Only one thing stood between me and my dream of becoming a creative writer: I couldn’t do two things at once.

Upon retiring from my career in marketing communications, I decided to devote my full attention to writing fiction, thereby solving my multi-tasking challenge.
I began my creative writing journey by enrolling in the online Writers’ Program offered by UCLA. In a series of courses taught by professional writers, I learned how to craft memorable characters, create colorful worlds, and outline suspenseful plots enriched with drama and conflict.
Taking one baby step at a time, I managed to bridge the gulf between writing promotional copy in short bursts to rendering full scale novels. As an interim step, I wrote three screenplays.

Stéphane Schafeitel
My parents came from “the old country.” My dad was Swiss, and my mom was French. I was the first person in my family to be born in America. My dad started a textile business in Greenville, South Carolina, in the 1970s and, with a few thousand dollars to his name, created a multi-million-dollar company.

My dad's love languages were SUCCESS, HARD WORK, and PRECISION. He was my hero, and I always admired his resilience, work ethic, and commitment to excellence.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t my mom’s hero because of his intense focus on business success, he was rarely home due to business travel, and he was a womanizer. Having grown up in Paris, France, my mom didn't acclimate to living in suburban America very well. She was not happy with my dad or -
