Amy Harris

A native of Ogden, Utah, Amy Harris is an associate professor of history at Brigham Young University. After completing a BA in history (with an emphasis on family history/genealogy) at BYU, she earned an MA in late modern European history at American University and a PhD in British history at UC Berkeley. Her training also includes a professional credential in genealogy.

Concentrating on early modern English history, she is currently working on a new book, tentatively titled A Single View: Family Life and the Unmarried in Georgian England.

Dieter Friedrich Uchtdorf, a former German aviator and airline executive, is a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).

Uchtdorf was born to ethnic Germans Karl Albert Uchtdorf and Hildegard Else Opelt in Moravská Ostrava (German: Mährisch-Ostrau), which at the time was in the Nazi-occupied Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia (now Ostrava, Czech Republic). David A. Bednar was ordained and set apart as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on October 7, 2004.
