Viene de una familia de periodistas chihuahuenses. Fue subdirector editorial de El Universal, y subdirector fundador de la revista Día Siete, que llevó a México cultura y periodismo durante once años. Fue editor en Reforma, El Economista y varios medios más. Actualmente es director de contenido del portal www.sinembargo.mx. Su novela Corazón de Kaláshnikov recibió las mejores críticas de sus contemporáneos. Es autor además de dos libros de relatos: No Incluye Baterías y Paracaídas que no Abre. Como periodista, coordinó el libro colectivo La Guerra por Juárez y ha participado como coautor en varios más: Los Amos de México, Los Suspirantes 2006, Los Intocables y Los Suspirantes 2011, con las biografías a Roberto Hernández, Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas
